Club President - Ian Mitchell

Golf is a game which is based on fairness, honesty, sportsmanship, competitiveness and integrity, because it is, largely, a self regulating game. It brings out the best in people and is an ideal way of making new friends, whilst enjoying healthy exercise and the outdoors.

Ladies Captain - Julie Risley

I would never have imagined myself playing golf until I saw the 2006 celebrity Ryder Cup – not the real one! If it was a game which the likes of Jane Seymour and Jody Kidd enjoyed I thought I might give it a try. It took a while for me to get going but once I retired I had some lessons from Steve Lloyd and joined Clandon Regis. I have never looked back.

We have a superb course appreciated by us all and we pride ourselves on being the friendliest club in Surrey. To keep the club thriving and growing we need to maintain the positive atmosphere for which it is renowned. Making sure this happens for all levels and ages of golfer is one of my key objectives as Captain.

I am delighted to be supporting Horsley and Bookham Riding for the Disabled Association with my fellow Captain this year. The work they do and the benefits achieved by their riders are so impressive. I hope we can make this a bumper fund-raising year.

Men's Captain - Richard Harris

I am very pleased to have been elected as your Men’s Captain for this year.

I've really enjoyed my year as Vice-Captain to Bruce and during that time have learnt a lot about the operation of the club through the role and sitting on the House and Green's Committees. Additionally, I have been on the Men's Committee for the last four years.

The organisation of golf by members is one of the strengths of Clandon Regis and I’m glad to be part of this, putting something back in for the enjoyment I have received through playing golf at the club.

In 2020, The Ladies Captain Julie Risley and I will promote our chosen charity Horsley and Bookham Riding for the Disabled Association to support their mission of providing therapy, achievement and enjoyment to children and young adults with disabilities living in Surrey and the surrounding areas.

Junior Captain - Louis Lepere

I started playing golf in 2015, after I had decided I wanted to try a new sport. I joined Clandon Regis in the academy section and quickly realised that it was the sport for me. Since 2015 I have dropped my handicap from 26 to 9. I am now at college studying Sport studies in golf which will hopefully lead me on to getting cut even more and then finding a job in the golf industry. As a junior I was made very welcome at Clandon Regis through the kindness and support of all the members.
