Club President - Ian Mitchell

Golf is a game which is based on fairness, honesty, sportsmanship, competitiveness and integrity, because it is, largely, a self regulating game. It brings out the best in people and is an ideal way of making new friends, whilst enjoying healthy exercise and the outdoors.

Ladies Captain - Linda Elliott

A game viewed by some with total incomprehension and others as an addiction, my first introduction to golf came many years ago, caddying for my parents! Life dictated a stop/start involvement as a player then in 2012, shortly after retiring, I joined Clandon Regis. We have a wonderful course and share not just love of the game but friendship, beautiful surroundings and all the benefits membership of our Club brings. We cheer on the winners, join in fun and serious competitions, enjoy a few holes catching up with friends, or relax in the bar. Many reasons bring us to Clandon Regis, but I hope we can all come together for a happy and successful year.

Men's Captain - Bruce Hobson

I am honoured to have been elected as your Men’s Captain for this year.

Having witnessed how much my wife and two sons enjoyed their time as former Ladies and Junior Captains respectively, I relish the opportunity to 'put something back' into the club we have all been members of for over twelve years.

In 2019 we will continue to promote our chosen charity BRIGHT (Cancer
Care) and I seek to raise funds for further improvements to our course and facilities. Naturally, my key objective is to ensure that members and guests continue to enjoy their golf and I look forward to supporting the Board, Committee and staff in their endeavours.

Serving on the Committee for four years has given me a deep insight into the operations of the club and I approach my term as Club Captain with enthusiasm and ambition.

I started playing golf in 2015, after I had decided I wanted to try a new sport. I joined Clandon Regis in the academy section and quickly realised that it was the sport for me. Since 2015 I have dropped my handicap from 26 to 9. I am now at college studying Sport studies in golf which will hopefully lead me on to getting cut even more and then finding a job in the golf industry. As a junior I was made very welcome at Clandon Regis through the kindness and support of all the members.
